Policies

School Policies

At Calvary Murrieta Christian School, our policies are designed to create a safe, respectful, and Christ-centered learning environment where students can grow academically, spiritually, and socially. These guidelines help ensure consistency, fairness, and partnership between families and our school. Below you’ll find a summary of our key policies; for full details, please refer to the Student Handbook.

Admissions & Enrollment

Calvary Murrieta Christian School welcomes students without regard to race or ethnic background. All students must have up-to-date immunizations, unless a valid medical exemption is registered with the state of California.

Families withdrawing before the end of the school year must provide a 60-day notice to avoid additional tuition charges. Grade-level placement follows California Department of Education guidelines.

Attendance

Regular attendance is essential for academic success. Parents must report absences by phone or email.

  • Preplanned absences (3+ days): Notify your child’s teacher at least one week in advance. All work is due the day the student returns.
  • Unplanned absences: Missed work will be assigned upon return.
  • Tardies: Arriving late disrupts learning. Excessive tardies may result in administrative meetings, and junior high students serve detention after five unexcused tardies.
  • Excessive absences: Missing more than 20% of school days requires a meeting with the principal.
Student Conduct & Discipline

We expect all students to uphold Christian values of respect and responsibility. The following are not permitted:

  • Use of cell phones or electronic devices during school hours
  • Bullying, harassment, or fighting
  • Cheating or plagiarism
  • Use of drugs, alcohol, or tobacco
  • Weapons or dangerous objects
  • Inappropriate language or behavior

Consequences may include warnings, detention, loss of privileges, suspension, or expulsion. Suspended students must turn in missed work the day they return.

Dress Code

Our dress code is designed to create a positive learning environment.

  • Uniforms: All school uniforms, including polos, pants, skirts, and PE attire, must be purchased from Lands’ End with the official school logo.
  • Shoes: Closed-toed shoes or boots must be worn at all times. Crocs, slides, and flip-flops are not allowed.
  • Jewelry & Makeup: Only standard ear piercings are permitted. Makeup is not allowed for TK–6; junior high students may wear natural makeup.
  • Fridays: Students may wear CMCS t-shirts with uniform bottoms or jeans without rips.

Health & Safety
  • Students must stay home if they have a fever, vomiting, diarrhea, pink eye, or other contagious conditions. They may return 24 hours after symptoms have ended or after starting antibiotics.
  • Medications are kept in the health office with a signed parent authorization form. Students may only carry inhalers with written permission.
  • Emergency contact information must be kept current in FACTS. Students will only be released to adults listed on their file.
  • Monthly fire drills and emergency preparedness training are conducted for student safety.
Technology Use

Students and parents must sign an Internet and Computer Use Agreement each year.

Students are expected to:

  • Use respectful and appropriate language online
  • Protect their privacy and passwords
  • Avoid accessing or altering others’ files
  • Refrain from downloading or sharing inappropriate content

Internet access is filtered and monitored at school.

General School Policies
  • Closed Campus: Students may not leave campus without being signed out by an authorized adult.
  • Custody: The school follows official court orders in custody situations.
  • Lost & Found: Items are displayed during the year; unclaimed items are sold during the uniform sale.
